BACK TO THE BASICS

Hello and welcome to my world on the web.

Seems I kinda lost sight as to why I started this blog to begin with. I got so caught up in the design and make of it. With all the gadgets they have to offer. I forgot I started this to show case my work and to stay in contact with my clients, Not to teach.

And I've noticed with all the stuff going on in the page it's opens slower and is bogged down. So I'm gonna clean it up. Get rid of a lot of stuff. Now you wont need a map to find your way around my blog.
Going back to the basics and keep it simple.

Something has happened to my design anyways. Some how the sizes, colors and some other things has been changed but not by my doings.

Well it may take me a little while as I have been so busy with special orders. But it will change soon.

So keep an eye out for it.

Could this day have gotten any better?

Hello and welcome to my world on the web.

No really. This has been the best day I've had in a really long time. Make some of the crap I've been dealt lately seem kinda ok now.

Not only did I get conformation from the lady that has special ordered the paperbag album. But tells me she looked at my stuff in my blog and store and says it's all just so awesome. If it is as good a quality as it looks then she'll want 3 albums a yr, maybe more.

Then I got in a bid on a S/O for a doz. cupcake b-day invites, due next week. And pays $25.

And the one for ALL the cookies, I got the S/O bid for 50 fancy CD holders, for now with more of these needed next month. Pays $200. It's that awesome.

Just when it can't get any better. While I was napping my pharmacist calls me and ask what am I doing on fri. Well duh I don't know, this is weird, (was he asking me out) lol. And tells me to come in at noon to pick up my $50 gift from a drawing they had. Way cool.

Now for the icing on the cake.

Ileana, ijr41ug , from PaperThreads just gave me the "Lemon Aid Stand Award" for attitude and gratitude to post in my blog. Now how COOL is that.
One of the great parts is I get to give it to someone I choose now. I get to give someone else a great day.

Here are the rules for this award.
Comment on this blog.
Cut and paste the award logo and use it on your own blog.
Nominate 5 to 10 blogs you feel show great attitude and gratitude.
Link to your nominees within your blog post.
Comment on their blogs to let them know they received the award.
Link back to the person who gave you the award to show your appreciation

But now my problem is everyone I would have choosen Ideana already has. lol

Chris, Lori, Elisabeth, Shirley, Jan. Congrats ladies you were all my choose as well.

Now Hummm I'll have to get back to you tomorrow. On this one. Right now I need sleep. Haven seen that bed yet tonight.

Hello and welcome to my world on the web.

Hey everyone,
Well seems I've went and done it again. Trying to do more than a doz things at once.
I have been trying to run my store, get my design group back up and going, do my blog, post in 2 or 3 other groups, get the website up for my design group, Add to that, I just got another order for a paperbag album, And haven't even finished this one for my G/F. And got an order for a doz cupcake b-day invites, due next week. Plus I went and put bids on a few more request. 2 of which has answered me with "can I see a sample". I'd like to do some personal scraping as well. The 2 new baby girl grandangels, I haven't even started their books. And Miss Diva Raine will be turning 1 soon.
Brian is hounding me to get his résumé' typed up. I have store inventory, to get made, plus tons yet to list, I haven't been on Webiz in forever to check that store out. So I'm sure most everything needs to be relisted there as well.
Now top on some paper need done for these just as icings on the cake.
And is it no wonder this last week I had a mild heart attack and had to spend 2 days in the hospital getting pulled and poked every which way.
Oh I’m alright now, Just a little scare is all. And it was caused from water retention and not a problem with my heart.
You see about 3 months ago I started swelling up. And in the last month gain more than 20lbs. 10 of that in the last week and 5 of which was in just less than 48hrs. Was at the docs about 3 X’s and just given more meds and on my way. After gaining the 5 in 48 I called, they got me in, looked at me, gave me different meds, and out the door. From the time it took me to drive from his office across town to CVS(about 6mil) It got harder to breath, my arm got all numb and tingly, I had a hard time concentrating, and my chest was getting really tight. Well the pharmacist said to call for help right now.
Hubby came to the store and took me to ER. Where that doc when he found out I had just left mine. Said “you looked like this in his office” and called my doc. I would love to have heard that conversation. To which after that they put in in for 2 daggone days.
Still never found out what is causing the swelling.
Now the doc has me on meds that is causing and involuntary compulsive reaction, I hummm or mumble low constantly. And that drives me totally crazy. As well as everyone around me. lol
Just wanted to pop in and say hey to all and just let cha know what’s been happening in the Tazz world.

Be back to post as soon as I can.Photobucket

So I have been seeing my doc but today I couldn't breath, chest & arm hurt. Went to the ER and they admitted me to find out why. MORE TO COME
ems with swelling-blotting over the last 3 months. However this last month has gotten worse. Just this week I've gained 10lbs 5 of that just in last 48hr
How cool is this! I'm blogging right from my cell. What's not cool is where I'm blogging from. I'm in the hospital right now. I have been having probl

A Gift 4 All the Women Not Just the MOMS

Hello and welcome to my world on the web.

I have a little gift for not only all the MOMS but all WOMEN. This has got to be one of the funnest things I have read in a very long time. One of the women at "PaperThreads" post it over there and I just had to share it with all of you.

Warning: TheCraftyTazz or it's alfilates can not be held liable for wet pants, passing out, hyperventilating, if you fall on the floor, or die from laughter.

**************************

When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place. Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied.
Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall.
You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants! The dispenser for the modern "seat covers" (invented by someones Mom, no doubt) is handy, but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't -
So you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck, (Mom would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR), yank down your pants, and assume " The Stance."
In this position your aging, toneless thigh muscles begin to shake. You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold "The Stance."
To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, "Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!" Your thighs shake more.
You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday - the one that's still in your purse. (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck, that now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time). That would have to do.
You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It's still smaller than your thumbnail. Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet. "Occupied!" you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT. It is wet of course.
You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late. Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try. You know that your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, "You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get."
By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a fire hose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes. The flush somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in too.
At this point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat. You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks.
You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women still waiting.
You are no longer able to smile politely to them. A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, "Here, you just might need this."
As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used, and left the men's restroom. Annoyed, he asks, "What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?"

This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long... It also answers their other commonly asked questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can hold the door, hang onto your purse and hand you Kleenex under the door!

This HAD to be written by a woman! No one else could describe it so accurately!

*************************

Well I hope you enjoy reading this little story as much as I did. And the funnest thing is, it's all so true. How many of you have experienced this a time or two.

Today's Featured Item "Acrylic Album"

For today's feature item I'd like to show you and item that is available in my stores, one of which is Etsy.com http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9376351 This is an 8x8 acrylic album. I titled this one "Our Special Day". You can use it for pics of a wedding, anniversary, prom or really any special day you have shared with that special someone.

The primary colors are black and white with a hint of red. Personal I think the black and white is romantic and glamorous.
I purchased a sheet of the acrylic at the hardware store and had my husband cut them 8x8, then drill 3 holes on the sides where I had marked. I ask for some extra holes in this one, some on top and others on the opposite side and top to add more ribbon.

On the front cover I place a strip of heavy red cardstock that I had punch the edge with the "Fiskars" Border punches, at the top center. I did not take it completely across the top as I didn't want it to interfere with the holes for the rings. Just thought that a hole and ring through it wouldn't look as nice. I used a sheet of black "Bazzill Bling" cardstock as a backing for my title. Using a piece of white heavy textured cardstock I printed the out the title, then cut out the words to separated and place on the backing. Added a couple of stars with silver "Stickles" and few punched out hearts. At the side of the title mat I placed a rub-on flourish also to be seen on the other side when you open the book.
Using the same topper and measurements for the mat at the front cover, I cut a piece of "DCWV Metallic" then with "DCWV Glitter stack" a piece just slightly smaller.

Now carefully placing it in the exact place as the front so none of the mats from the front showed through. However you can see the hearts and flourish very well.

Now on the next page I used the same cardstocks only making a circle mat. I placed a 3 stacked flower held with together with a brad and embellished with "Stickles" in the bottom corner, punched hearts at the top corner and another flourish just under the mat. This is one of the pages I had extra holes drilled for more ribbon.

As you turn the page you'll see I used the same concept of matching everything on the front side. This makes for a much better looking book than to see the back side of a mat with the glue and all.

On this page I used the "Bazzill Bling" cardstock as the base for my mat under "Bazzill" white that I punched with the "Fiskars Round Border Punches". Gives it a very pretty look. Matched the flowers and hearts. You can see the flourish through the page so no need to add anything there.

On the opposite page I use the white on bottom and black on top. Cutting a rectangle and punched with a corner punch the bottom mat. Adding some fuzzy fibers across the black piece and running a metal heart buckle slide to that. I'm also using the top of the mat as a pocket for a journal tag. Made from the white, trimmed with "Stickles" and a thin black with polka dots ribbon tied through the hole. The tag was made using my "Sizzix and the Scalloped tag die". I took ready made chipboard swirls made by "Maya Road". They come in this really cute little lunch box tin, any way painted it black with glitter. I also added a 3 tired stacked flower to this page as well only using a bit different kinda of flowers. Still attached with a brad and highlighted with "Stickles". You'll see the holes are at the top of this page for the extra ribbons.
The next page mirrors the previous one.

On the following page I used the "Creative Memories"cutting system to mat this mat. It is also used as a pocket for a tag. With a little white nylon flower at the top corner, hearts on the other and another rub on in the bottom.

Next page same as the last. Only this one is not a pocket.

The page beside that has a rectangle mat, swirl at the top as well as a black flower.

Ok now we got to the back cover. This one has a lovely poem I found on the web, titled "Love Can Be Like Lighting" author unknown. I attached some fuzzy fiber and a lovely heart charm on the side of this.

Well I hope you enjoyed looking at my creation and it inspire you to give acrylic a try. Now there are many ready cut books available to choose from in many shapes. So no need to put it off any longer.
Just remember the only rule of thumb is to mirror the back side of the page to the front for a much better looking book.

If your interested in purchasing this album just send me a message or email and I'll get it right in the mail to you.

Todays Featured Item 4-26-09

Today I'd like to show you a project I just finished. I call this my BLING BOX.
Ever since they came out with "Stickels" I have loved them. However I like to store mine upside down for quick use. Well those little bottle don't stand very well on there own and I have had problem with storage. That is till now.

I found this old Christmas cookie tin around the house and I had some of this 2" thick foam from another project left over. I cut the foam to fit inside the box. Then measuring out the bottles I cut deep X's in the foam evenly spaced. But I didn't go all the way through the foam just deep enough for the cap to fit up to the bottle.

Now comes the fun part, Decorating the box. I started by covering the sides and top with heavy "DCWV Glitter STACK" cardstock. I chose this because it was the heaviest of papers that I had. I want it to stand up to a lot of handling and travel to and from crops and shows. Then using ribbon I trimmed all the edges and add a string of tiny beads for dimension. Now using ready made Flourishing (Swirlies) I cover them with foil glue then 1st coat light with purple and 2nd coat heavy with silver iridescence. Topped them off with a few gems to make them really pop.I took some 3d ready made butterflies I already had and added very tiny rhinestones to make "pow"I punched out the tiny flowers from the scrap cardstock used and framed in the top, Adding some nylon flowers with beads to each corner and a couple of those Butterflies.

For the center I used a Cupids file by "Carries Designs" from "PaperThreads" and with my KNK cut out the little Cherub. Piecing it together, the with gel pens highlighted all the edges, added creases, folds, feathers, hair, ear, eyes, and lips. Now for the cloud I use the "Velvet Markers" and not rubbing on the ink but dobbing it so it would give it a heavy coat so when I added the heat gun it really puffed up and looked fluffy. But it wasn't as WHITE as I wanted to with the "Sharpie White Marker" touch up the cloud and while the ink was still wet sprinkle on some very fine white glitter called "Sugar"And now I have a very useful and lovely item to add to my scraproom. Plus I can show it off when I go to crops and shows. lol

So look around your house and what have you got that you don't use anymore. And ask yourself, Humm, Can I turn this into something useful.

I personally will be looking at the yard sales this summer for more tins and containers.

And that's just my scrapin life.
Wow now that I see it all listed, Boy I really over did it this month. Now add to the fact I haven't been sleeping but maybe 2-3 hrs a day, (doc's workin on that).

Today's Featured Item

For today featured item I'd like to share with you this card I made for the "Sketch a Card Challenge" at PaperThreads @http://www.paperthreads.com/forum/index.php
I started with a 7x10 piece of heavy cardstock, scored it down the center and folded it in half. Then add a piece of striped paper in the shape called for in the sketch. But I didn't glue it to the card base. I cut some hinges with my "Sizzix" and placed them on the side of the paper then attached the hinges to the card. Top it off with little dotts of copper "Stickles".
Now down in the bottom corner added a couple of "Prima" flowers with a brad.
At the top of the paper I place some Mothers day paper and trimed the top and bottom with a sting of roses.
Now lifting the pager, I cut another piece of cordinating Mothers Day paper , then I added a bunch of roses I had already cut with the "Sizzix" and a "Quick Kuts" die. Makeing sure they don't go past the line of the top paper. With a marker added stems, then
tied them all up with silk ribbon bow.
Now moving back to the front I placed a small cutting mat between the card and paper and cut a small opening in the paper. Then attached a piece of yellow cardstock with scotch tape to the under side of the cardstock and the top of the paper, creating a window flap.

Now to that flap I add my Mother-in-laws name with marker and a couple of findings "little shoes" by cutting off the button shank and useing "Fabic Tack"
Next we move inside the card. On the left side of the card I used another piece of the Mother Day Paper and added to the page a couple of die cut useing my "Szzix" and "Cutter Bug" dies.

And last for the right side I found this great poem online, and useing my "KNK" and a good gel pen wrote the poem on a peice of cardstock. After with I cut use a file by "Sam & Hailey Designs" cut out this great lookin mat it all in one.

Amazing Talent

Just recently we found out that my daughter-in-law has hidden talents. She was taking these amazing picture with just her little phone camera. I couldn't believe some the shots she would have. It would take me all day following the babies around with my Nikon just to get maybe 2 or 3 good pics.
She made it very easy and hard to scrap for. See very easy as you didn't have to do anything to the pic for it to be perfect for that perfect page. Very hard as to pick out just which ones to use because they were all so good.

I told my son that she had some real talent there. So he decided to invest in that talent and got her one of the best cameras on the market, lights, props, backdrops the whole nine yards. Now they are looking into a studio for her to set up in.

I just had to share with you these pics she took of my other grandangels on Easter. This was her 1st photo shoot.
Now you tell me " She got talent"?

Todays Featured Item

Ok since Easter has just pasted. The next featured item is one I have in my stores, one of which is @http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10523082

This is a 12x12 layout for Easter of course. Titled
"LET THE HUNT BEGIN"

This is set on a backing of plain card stock. Then I placed cloud printed paper at the top and green texture card stock at the bottom of which I used my "Fiskars" embossing plate "grass" and rubbed ink over it to give it dimension.

Also using texture card stock I cut the title with my KNK.

Next I added mats of various shapes and sizes by using textured card stock as the base and a cloudy looking card stock on the top of a lighter color than the base.

On the purple mat I punched the corners of the top mat using a decorative corner punch and attached a ribbon using the "Fasiniator".

For the green mat, I cut it using the "Creative Memories Cutting System" and added a shimmery-fuzzy cord.

Now the pink mat I also used a decorative corner punch but also added brads to the corners, of which I painted the tops with "Stickles"

Moving on to the yellow mat. This one I punched the corners of the bottom mat then slide the top mat into it. And attached some "Prima" flowers with brads then painted both with the "Stickles".

And the last mat, the blue one was also cut using the "Creative Memories". Then I put some flowered punches around it and highlighted it with the "Stickles"

OK now lets add the good stuff.

I cut a couple of trees with the "Sizzix" unit, used the cloud die for the tops, embossed the trunks with the "Fiskars" rub emboss plate, inked to show the ridges, and added "Stickles" to accent the tree tops

I also used some "Sizzix" die cuts for the fence, vines and baskets.

Placing the fence on a little diagonal for depth, I weaved the vines through the post, added a bunch of tiny paper flowers, put dots of "Stickles" in each one and using a marker added veins to the leaves of the vines.

Using the KNK I made this adorable bunny. Gave him a basket made with the "Sizzix" that I used marker to accent the lines of the weave. Put in some little punchy eggs that where stamped with various markings. Then with "Snow" gave him a fluffy tail.
The eggs in the large "Sizzix" die cut basket where also made on my KNK. But these I made from chipboard and the eggs on the top are layered using "Pop Dots"
Now I threw in a bunch of those paper flowers all over the pages and used a marker to make some stems and leave for the flowers. Last I took a bunch of egg punches that were stamped or I used a marker on and place them through out the page.
I think you'll like these pages. They are so fun to look at to the eye with all the bright colors, textures, shapes and dimension.

Well I hope this inspires you to create an Easter page of your own. Or this one is still available for sale.

Todays Feature Item

Today I'd like to show you a personal item I just recently did. I was looking around for something. As I've already told you I am obsessed with be organized. When I ran across tons of pony beads. They were everywhere and in everything. lol Well looking for something to put them in at was perfect I saw an empty contain that held my cds. Well this held them all perfectly when turned upside down. But what and ugly thing it was. lol

So I had to decorated it and this is what I came up with.

I cut the pole out of the center and placed a couple sheets of fun foam over the lid. Then covered that with "DCWV" glitter paper, some gold pleated trim I had left over, and of course "Prima" "Got ta have flowers and leaves", a filagree in the middle, then some beads to add more dimension.
Then moving on to the base I covered it with paper then painted on some "glaze" to go more with the lid. Then I continued to add more and more items till I was satisfied. Flowers, beads, 3d embellishments, and for the center piece of the base I took some "Grunge Board" I had then inked with walnut and gold, added a filagree on a pop dot in the middle then topped with beads.

I really do love the way this turned out. That I plan to make more. Even in different sizes.

I hope this gives you some inspiration to challenge yourself to find not only storage solutions but decorative ones at that.

And for those whose just not into this kinda of thing. You may want to look for these in the very near future in my stores. lol Or of course I always accept speical orders of any kind.

CRS

I have just so busy finding and adding all the cool stuff to this blog I forgot to post. lol
Strike it up to my "CRS" and for those who don't know what that is "Can't Remeber Shit".
But I think you all gonna like the little gagets I'm adding here.
To help you with your own personal scrapin. Like quotes, tips, challenge, supplies and so much more.
I've also decide that since I have so much I wanna show all of you that I have done for sale, special orders, charities and person. That I'm gonna feature 1 item a day. Plus you can still see them all in the slide shows. But the featured item will show all the pics and have the details listed.
I am really starting to get excited about this blog thing now. And I hope you will all enjoy my site and add me to your watch and favs.

Ok back atem.

And while I'm here let me show off my latest work.
This is a project I did for one of the design teams I'm on, "Sam & Hailey's Designs" @ PaperThreads (PaperThreads=<<http//www.paperthreads.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=66_83>>PaperThreads)

Alright my links aren't workin, can some one tell me how to put the link in the word.

Anyways heres the little boxes I made useing Jan's cutter files.

I love these little things. And as anyone who knows me I am obsessed with being organized. And these are just what I needed for some of those little items. I put a lable on the lid sides of each one so I know exactly what's in each box. Stamped it and added little pearl beads for the flowers to set them off nicely.

Well I'm off to tweek some more. lol

OMG I DID IT!!!!!!

Finally after more than 2 weeks of trying to make this blog,

I DID IT ! ! ! ! ! !

Tryed to find a template that fit me and my style. With no luck. Came close on a couple. But they just weren't me. So about a few days ago I gave up the search after a very wonder lady posted a link in the threads at "Paperthread" (which I'm a member), on Blog Secrects. I checked it out and with the help of that blogs little tips and how to's, and just a LOT of trial and error.

I started with a blank template and built my own world, (so to speak).

Now it may seem a bit busy or clutered to some. But this is who I am and how I live. Even though I am totally obsessed with being organized. I am alway scrattered. I always have to be doing more than one thing at a time.

But anyways I hope you like the look and if not, WHO CARE

I DO, AND IT'S ME.

Have a great Easter everyone.

Now maybe I can get some sleep.

Blog thingy

Well I'm still working on this blog thing. And have decided that since I can't find the format that I want with everything I want on it. I'll make my own.

So it's gonna take some more time before this thing is up and running completely.

And I'm sorry for the delay. But as anyone who knows me, I want what I want and wont be satisified till I get it.

Just a few more days. It will all be worth it in the end.

I need more time in a day.

Wow I just can't find enough TIME to do everything I need to do. This was harder than I hoped it would be.

Trying to relist all my inventory into 3 stores and auctions on ebay. Lost all information and the pic to all of the stuff when my computer when down back in Nov. And I just let it go didn't mess with any of that while my son and his family was living with us.
Now they've move out it's TIME for me to get back with it.

Then there's all my groups, the design team, my space, and can't forget about my friends on the chat site. Now I've added this blog cause everyone tells me "You need a blog to show off your stuff." And to be completely honest, I have no idea how to operate this dag gone thing. Like the color show up one way and I want it a different color. And the fonts, nope don't work for me, so I'm trying to change that. And now if Icould just fix my header to fit on the top side to side, up and down. I'll be a happy camper. lol

Now of course I need TIME to create, right. If not then this is all just meaningless.

And add in my grandangels, Who's parents seem to think just because I don't have a 9-5 that I have to leave the house and go to daily. That I don't have anything to do. hahahahahah However I do love having them around even if they are gettin in all my stuff. And contantly buggin me for this and that or can I do this or that.

OH and we can't forget my Dear Ole Hubby. Gotta throw a little TIME in there for him as well.

The way I figure if I don't sleep for the next 7-10yrs I might be able to find enough TIME
